I've been amazed by the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Mosca, CO since I first found it on a trip to Pagosa Springs. Looking starting at the shadowed sand at the bottom leading into the lighted sand gives me the closest feeling to being there in person. It's now a stop I always make while on my way to the San Juan mountains. If you're taking the southern route you should stop too.

The smaller elevator of the two in Lakin, KS. Living here I almost feel required to photograph grain elevators. They dot the landscape and sometimes are placed in the middle of nowhere. The feeling of obligation faded, and as you can see for yourself the worn utility and colors can be stunning.

About
Grounded in real-world experience, I lean into both my technical knowledge and artistic tendencies when producing media. I began practicing photography by capturing the people, animals, and landscapes around me in rural U.S.A., surrounded by cows and open, expansive spaces. I consider my knowlegde of animal handling, farming, and machinery as one of my greatest assets in
my work. My approach is to find originality no matter how unassuming or familiar it may all seem.
